Cabin Layout

Interior Specs can be found here https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/fleet.html

- Window seats may feel narrower to come as the armrests are placed "into" the "curvature" of the cabin.
- Seats with no windows feel even more narrower as there is no space created by the curvature of window.
- All bulkhead seats have very limited legroom.
- Seats 15A, 16A, 16F, 17A and 17F have limited windows.
- Exit rows 19 and 20 have more legroom than regular preferred seats.

Routes

The 737 MAX is designated to replace the A320-series. Based on announcements and schedule updates, the following specific routes will be operated by the 737 MAX in future:

YYZ-LAX (periodic flights)
YYZ-SNN (new route)
YUL-DUB (new route)
YYZ/YUL-KEF (replacing Rouge A319)
YYT-LHR (replacing Mainline A319)
YHZ-LHR (replacing Mainline B767)
Hawaii Routes YVR/YYC (replacing Rouge B767)
Many domestic trunk routes (YYZ, YVR, YUL, YYC) now operated by 7M8, replacing A320 family

@Longleg, depending on who you ask no seats on a 737max8 are good for anyone.

But at 6'2 I've been both upfront and in Y+, though not that exact seat (or any exit row seat). I would have no issue booking it.

I was in 20E & 20F at the weekend (well, not just me...) and legroom is excellent.

Depends on your definition of "tall," but I'm 6'-1" and the preferred row I sat in had ample legroom. The legroom in preferred rows isn't what makes the seats bad.

Air Canada going all-out this afternoon as they try to film their Max from all angles, in the hopes there will be one that makes it look more appealing:

It's like the Dreamliner. Nightmares are dreams too.

The 7M8 is like a slice of heaven compared with rouge.

Rouge plus 767 is better than AC's 787/777/737 offering hands down

Comparing what with what? Is "Rouge Plus" Premium Rouge? Compare vs. what, J domestic or Y domestic, or, J or PY or Y international?

Sorry for delay in reply.

Yes, they had at least some duty free, as a guy near me bought something.Heaven knows where they found the storage room.

What is Airbus's answer to 737max? Is it the A320Neo? How does it compare to 737max? Are there differences between 737max8 vs. 737max9?
The armrests move up and down. There's a bit of a trick to get the aisle armrests to release so they move, but they do.

Had my flight on this aircraft last night YYZ LAX - and thank goodness I bought two adjacent coach seats, otherwise this 5+ hr flight would have been pure hell, even in the preferred seats.

Pros:
preferred seat legroom (not width)
new IFE system
sky interior overhead bins
new car smell

Cons:
everything else

The cabin was way too warm, probably a good 78-82, and a bumble bee's wings can move more air than those useless air vents. Seats are leather or pleather, which made it easy to wipe them down with disinfectant wipes before sitting - tray tables are too small, plugs are near the floor, so if you and your seat mates have trays down and working or eating and your plug comes out, good luck bending down to put it back in.

5 hours YYZ LAX was bad enough - I don't know how anyone will handle this going to Europe, but I guess the seats are no worse than the CRJ200-size seats UA put on its 787s and 773s in Y for transpac flights. If you can, just buy an extra seat - you'll need it.

How do you buy an extra seat? Presumably if you purchase for someone else and they no show, the seats could be filled once check in closes. I guess you could check the PAX in, but the seats could still be filled by standbys once boarding closed.

On another note, I had the chance to take my first 7M8 flight today in J, YVR-YYZ. I took a 77W instead. Shows how excited I am to try the new metal.

You call reservations and book an EXTRASEAT (or 2). You are guaranteed the empty seat or seats if you pay the applicable fare.
