*FAQ:
Q: On the 787-9 (789), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Rows 5 and 8 on both port and starboard sides have only one window, instead of two on all other port/starboard J seats.
Q: On the 787-8 (788), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Only row 5 port and starboard sides have zero windows.
Q: Does the middle J seats' middle divider come down?
A: No, on the 788 and 789 the middle divider does not come down and is fixed in place. In fact, all Dream Cabin (788, 789, 77L, 77W) middle dividers are fixed and do not come down.

Fin 857 will be the last new 787 coming into the fleet, in about 3 weeks.

I was recently reminded that AC still has 12 options. So I went searching for some info and stumbled on this interesting piece
QUOTE:
"Strong demand for Boeing's 787 passenger jet has created a profitable sideline for Air Canada, which is selling some of its Dreamliners and leasing them back."
"Air Canada flips Boeing 787 Dreamliners for big gains"
By Andrew McIntosh – Staff Writer, Puget Sound Business Journal Mar 10, 2017
https://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/...s-selling.html
Since this article was written last year, I was wondering if this strategy would apply to the optioned 789s. It was explained to me that it is better for AC to take the options and then lease them out if they don't currently need them. I'll assume AC is still looking at international expansion. If AC sells the options but then later needs them, they would have to pay higher purchase or leasing costs for extras. Is this correct, or perhaps someone can explain it better than it was explained to me. Thanks.

The options give them previously agreed pricing and delivery positions. If they sell them, then they’d be back to negotiating pricing and delivery from scratch.

According to Wikipedia (I know), the 787-8s are gaining 4 seats in the Y cabin... anyone know where/how?

Would you not give the Beancounters any ideas please...
Slightly off topic whilst I have your attention. Just flew back on the 787T ( T for Toothpaste as opposed to 787R - for Racoon) from EWR -YVR last night in Y. Didn't want to pay the exorbitant difference between Y ($159 each way) and PE ($885 each way - I kid you not.) so booked early and spent $62 on preferred row 18 due to not wanting to sit in Ryanair Class. I didn't have high hopes for bulkhead legroom after flying the 777S (S for Slaveship) YVR-LHR in a bulkhead PE seat and found it very tight but, to my surprise found the preferred seat on the 787T has tons of legroom and even more than PE did. Best $62 I ever spent! Incidentally, I was pleased to see that the cabin service in PE seemed to be the same as international PE from hot towels through to snacks at the end of a 5.5 hour flight
And if you are still with me... the 548/549 is a painless way to get to and from New York ( tho' EWR ain't the prettiest child in the class). The new shiny, tiny MLL at EWR is just that with minimum food selection and packed due to the multiple departures to YYZ, YUL, and YVR at the end of the afternoon. All in all a very good experience.
