*FAQ:
Q: On the 787-9 (789), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Rows 5 and 8 on both port and starboard sides have only one window, instead of two on all other port/starboard J seats.

Q: On the 787-8 (788), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Only row 5 port and starboard sides have zero windows.

Q: Does the middle J seats' middle divider come down?
A: No, on the 788 and 789 the middle divider does not come down and is fixed in place. In fact, all Dream Cabin (788, 789, 77L, 77W) middle dividers are fixed and do not come down.

787, just like everything else. Plan is for mainline to be 100% 777/787 in not very long.

Edit: Unless it's Rouged

My guess, a Rouge 767 I expect same thing for YEG

787s to replace 767s to NRT?

So LHR and ZRH get first taste, just a nibble at ACs 787, but then TLV gets the whole cake in July? Weird!

When will the 767s be replaced on AC9/10 YYC-NRT-YYC I wonder?

Not sure about the 17.3" width x 31" pitch in Y but PE sure looks attractive but a bit pricey for leisure travellers!

This is not to say that slave ships were comfortable. To the contrary, it is to point out how uncomfortable modern economy class is. With the padding essentially gone from the seats, you are not that far from sitting on a wooden plank either

You can have my TV and hot meal any day. I want my space (and my bathroom, of which there aren't many in the sardine cans either).
I would love to see you say that after actually sitting on a wooden plank for 8 hours...

Not to mention that they were confined to that space for up to 2 months, not a few hours. While I don't necessarily agree with the person calling it offensive (it's just ignorance in my view), your ridiculous analogy actually shows how comfortable modern airline travel is. And if you read that wikipedia article properly you'd see that those minimum requirements weren't necessarily provided. Not that it really makes a difference if you think 2 months on a 6ftx16" wooden floor is remotely comparable to a fraction of a day sat in a (albeit lightly) padded reclining chair.

We're on ZRH-YYZ in early/mid Sept 2014 biz class ticketed award that's fully ticketed.

With the current 767 being J24 and the 788 going J20, what happens if YYZ-ZRH gets extended beyond July? Would they pull the award out from under us or are we safe as it's properly ticketed?

lots of ifs here, but wanting to be proactive...

You're ticketed, you're fine. The reduction is only 4 seats, so unless the flight was nearly sold out the change wouldn't have much impact.

and there is zero chance of a flight in September 2014 of being remotely close to sold out. i would suspect that unless companies have business meetings planned that far out, you could be the only ones in J thus far.

looks like J will share lavatories with PE. [that is unless PE gets two lavatories for 21 pax and J only gets 1 for 20]

I hope you realize that the mere fact that you have to dispute the comparison is a testimony to how UNcomfortable modern airline travel is. You only need to compare to the economy class standards of 20 years ago - when seat pitch was routinely 34" - to shriek in horror. But if you think 31" pitch and 17" width is comfortable for 8+ hours, enjoy Y on the 787. I will be elsewhere.

Funny to see that the Z fare on ZRH-YYZ-LGA on AC via 788 ($4000) is almost 2X as expensive as ZRH-YUL-LGA on LX ($2200), and LX has a superior product than even the new AC 788. AC is really pricing itself out on this routing from the US.

And it looks like Latitude fare costs fewer eUp credits (6 credits) to upgrade to J than Premium economy (8 credits) for YYZ-LHR OW, while Latitude costs $100 less.

The price ex FRA is identical, you can simply route through ZRH.
