*FAQ:
Q: On the 787-9 (789), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Rows 5 and 8 on both port and starboard sides have only one window, instead of two on all other port/starboard J seats.

Q: On the 787-8 (788), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Only row 5 port and starboard sides have zero windows.

Q: Does the middle J seats' middle divider come down?
A: No, on the 788 and 789 the middle divider does not come down and is fixed in place. In fact, all Dream Cabin (788, 789, 77L, 77W) middle dividers are fixed and do not come down.

If your suits are not slim fit that is chest size 38, forget about it, to fit in the Y seats.

Optimizing your personal space?!? Who writes this stuff? Something's optimal here but it sure as h*ll isn't anyone's personal comfort.

Mr. Altitude, unless you post here and don't bother to read any responses, AC clearly doesn't seem to be listening, what with the new slaveship configurations of the 777 and 787, eupgrade credits given in November that expire in February, eupgrade add-ons, etc. If your ulterior motive is to alienate customers and drive them to other carriers, it's on the right track.

i will gladly thank AC for a bassinet in J on this 787 (and on the sardine can)....it was a shameful disgrace to not have them on the XM J....
As per the specs there is planned fixed bassinet ahead of 1D.

I am assuming that those who participated in the survey at Boeing ages ago are now free of their confidentiality agreements - if so, the answer is yes.

The one thing I am concerned about with the new seat is that the feet are in an enclosed space but at least all aisle access has been preserved. I think that likely came across loud and clear at said surveys.

Odd. When people announce they are fed up with AC and are moving to UA there is no mention of the 'sardine can/slaveship' 787s they fly - and every 787 operator who is 3-3-3 (all except ANA and JAL). And UAs 2-2-2 J is terrible compared to what this looks like.

AC 787 Y has 17.3" wide seats. Not 17". If you are going to criticise it, at least get your facts right. That is an extra cm of space vs the 77P.

I think the message from the posters is to avoid ALL high-density 787s, including UA. In a decade all economy classes will be high density, but until then move dollars around, or add a stop into the mix to avoid the birds.

Decent PE but again just 21 seats.

It's worth remembering that the number of J seats is for the 788. There may be more on the 789.

What are the odds we will be able to IKK a J seat on this bird?

I think 'people' wanted PE à la United's Economy Plus - A lot more legroom in a 'conventional' Y seat for a small up-tick in price.

Not AC's offering at twice-the-price, which the bean counters at my company would never pay for.

AC could soften the pain by offering eUps into PE with no co-pay, but there's been no mention of that.

I´d assume similar to IKK availability on the more popular 763 routes. At least doing a few searches on TLV-YYZ R/Z/IKK availability doesn´t seem to have changed signifcantally.

It's a industry leading narrow seat for long haul aircraft, wonder if they will have that in the ads

Most of the AC domestic Airbus product is 17.8 to 18" going smaller for longer flight is criminal

I do like addition of proper PE seat choice, not joke UA PE with 3" more leg room same narrow seat.

That is what I wanted, like KLM where the upsell is $100-200, no fancy bad airline food, just leg room. So United E+ was fine for me as well.

IMO, the AC PE product is inferior to BA (World traveller+) and AF (Premium Voyageur) just to name those two. The biggest difference is in-flight service.

Not that they care, but the 10-across seating on 777 and non-competitive PE fares from YUL means no more business to AC from me.

Plus, on BA the WT+ upgrade to CW for under 10,000 Avios points/segment (to Europe) is a pretty sweet deal since a)they have different fare classes for WT+ and b) you get about 10,000 points for the round trip in WT+. Makes it a no brainer.
