What A/C did I fly in 1998 (YVR-LHR)

In early 1998 (Jan-Mar) I flew YVR-LHR-YVR on Air Canada. What aircraft would it have been? My mother says it was likely the 744 however I would like to be certain.

Many thanks!

Weren't the AC 744s the combi models, used mainly from YYZ to FRA and LHR?

I remember flying YYC-LHR in the nineties on ancient 747-100s. With Y on the upper deck, while the combi had J in front and upstairs.

I would be surprised if the combi ever operated in the West.

Their web page mentions non-combi 744s, but I suspect these were the CP ones.

Likely in a B767-200ER or perhaps A340-300 or A330-300. What do remember about the flights?

I recall several trips LAX - YYZ in a Combi in the '90s so they may have been the plane of choice on that route for a while.

I was quite young so I do not remember. Thanks for the details! My mom probably assumed the centre 4 was from the 744 but likely it was from the a330/a340. Thanks for the help!

Given how old the 747-100s were, wouldn't AC have had 3-class service back then?

I remember flying LHR - YVR on a 343 in August of '99. I believe in 2001 AC was flying 744's as my family were supposed to fly YVR-LHR on a 744 until we found a different routing so that we could get 4 J seats on miles.

Most unlikely. The 330 didn't join the fleet until 1999.

So A340-300 then? AC's Historical Fleet Page says it joined the fleet in 1995.

Thanks for the correction - I thought it was '97.

Could have been 747-100, 763, 343.

Latter perhaps more likely.
