Hi,

I am waitlisted for an upcoming flight after applying for an upgrade. However, if I click on change seats, I am given an option for selecting seats in the exec cabin.

Does this mean my upgrade is going to go through? I am afraid if I select the exec seats, I may potentially lose my selected economy seats.

You sure you are waitlisted?

Go to aircanada.com and check your booking.

If you are waitlisted, the leg should appear twice.

Says wait listed beside the flight info, only listed once. Same if I also go to manage upgrades.

I would suggest calling in. Sometimes upgrades get stuck. You may be cleared on the phone, but at worst you won't lose your Y seat

Ok, called. Said I am still pending and not sure why I could show ability to change seats to exec. Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you using the iPhone app? It seems unable to handle the "wait listed" status properly and shows you the exec seat map. If you try to change your seat the save will fail in some way I no longer remember.
