Sabre is very much real time in clearing waitlists. I remember I am always placed on the waitlist for upgrades when I book my flights with CP [since we can't get R class until 100 hrs prior], it would always clear at the 100 hours mark or 72 hours mark. Not one second early or late. We just don't get the email confirmation that Ken was talking about as CP ExP [AA people gets them].
