AC websaver e-mails
Is it only me, or do others find their HTML formatted e-mail annoying?
When I filled out the survery to win 15,000 points.. (lol).. I did mention this issue Doubt that my opinion will change much though at AC..smile |
I do too, but I suspect both it (and the search screens linked to it) serve the majority of their passengers much better. Certainly it's better than that apparently-random (but not entirely) list of city-pairs they used to send out. While I wouldn't have asked for what they came up with, I think most people (in Ottawa for instance) just want to know what destinations are available from YOW, and maybe (if they're very adventurous) YUL.
I also dislike AA's emails, which are also all HTML. andrew |
I don't like it, either, so I unsubscribed.

It seems particularly stupid in AC's case, because they're not even providing the fares (if they were formatting the content of the old messages so they were easier to read or understand, I'd accept it as a better _alternative_ option for most of their customers, but if all they're saying is "go here to see this week's Websavers", why bother with HTML?)
It's just a list of cities fer cryin out loud! andrew |
Big problem is that they don't show the total fare (including taxes and fees) until you price specific flights. So while the BDL/YUL fare of $108 (US) looks nice, it actually prices to $341 (Cdn). Mixing the currencies doesn't help either.
Appearance-wise, it's much more slick. But in terms of functionality, a real turkey! |
