Out - Thanks

I have accepted a job with nearly 0 travel. Better (way better) money. Home every night. Company plane for most trips, and even then home every night. No more Russia. No more Australia. As of the end of June, outside of finding out how to burn my amassed miles, I will be home with my wife and kids and off of FT.

Thank-you to FT members for helping me through issues of travel. Thank-you for helping me to get as many points and benefits as possible. And thank-you for keeping everyone informed of the BS that airlines pull.

I will still hit E50 this year, and then go to nil.

Have a good ride everyone.

Congrats on the new job!

But why the drop to nil?, does your new job not come with vacation time?

nil - little kids, definitely not enough to time to get to status. In a few years I will be back, though.

Not sure yet. Have a large department, so will likely always be hiring depending on the requirements...

congrats on the new job.
The more I fly, the more I'm realizing the value of coming home every night.
I hope this will be the start of a new happy chapter in your life!

Ha, Isn't one of the perks of travel when one has little kids the joys on an uninterupted nights sleep?! ( I travel 8-12 times a year so probably have a better balance there than the truly FF ).

Congrats though.

I certainly agree on the good nights sleep. I',m past that, so it is about being at home for the fun of it!

Currently on my second to last long distance trip. About the leave from YYZ to CPH. Kind of nostalgic at this point.

Funny, the more I stay at home, the more I realise the value of getting the hell outta Dodge

Good luck and enjoy the change of routine.
How will you fill the time you used to spend playing the FF game?

The allure of being a road warrior wanes with the realization that long haul travel is only commuting to work.

You'll be back.

The forum is still great to maximize family rewards and get some interesting travel advice.

Best of luck with the last segments.
