AC895 IFE?

Good morning

I think I know the answer to this but would like some confirmation. I'm travelling on AC895 (DUB-YYZ) on a 763. This is what comes up on the spec:

Please note: New cabin interior - featuring personal touch-screen TVs or lie-flat Executive First Suites - is not available on three B767-300 (763) aircraft that operate flights between Canada and certain international locations, including:
Athens (ATH), Greece
Madrid (MAD), Spain
Cancun (CUN), Mexico
Dublin (DUB), Ireland
Maui/Kahului (OGG) and Oahu/Honolulu (HNL), Hawaii
Montego Bay (MBJ), Jamaica,
Varadero (VRA), Cuba

Does this mean that no aicraft that operates DUB-YYZ has seatback IFE or just certain planes on that route (and that I could get lucky)?

Thanks!

You're likely out of luck

To find out (almost) for sure, go to aircanada.com, do a dummy booking on your planned dates. If no business class seats show available for sale on your desired flight, it means you're on one of these dogs.

Given the small number of these aircraft in the fleet, there is always the possibility that there will be a last minute switch to a decent bird, but don't bet on it.

To add to the confusion, I just did a search on aircanada.com for "What's on your flight" and it lists dozens of movies/TV shows, suggesting personal AVOD...

It is my understanding that FIN 687 will be doing DUB, and it has projected movies and a limited music selection. And if you have your own headphones, make sure you have a two pin adaptor. 687 is the last of the four door 763s and a step down from even the Pineapples.

Thanks! No wonder it was cheap.

Hey, you may luck out and have a 777 subbed in. Has happened, albeit rarely

A high density 777? There has still not been any announcement on routes for these things except CDG.

I think acysb87 meant there is a small chance a 767 might go tech at short notice and AC might utilize a 777 to complete the mission instead.

That is two BIG "mights" sprinkled liberally with "ifs, ands or buts"...

I'll not hold out much hope. At least there's free alcohol...

That list needs to be amended. I'm pretty certain:

MAD was XM last year, and will be again this year.

CUN/MBJ/VRA did not have any regularly scheduled 767 service this past year. (AFAIK)

This particular aircraft is a DOG! It was switched to a domestic YYZ-YVR a couple of wks ago and they claim it is J class. Nothing further from the truth! Go on the AC website and it shows the same configuration as rouge. Do yourself a favor. Get lucky and fly with a different carrier. No IFE, No electrical outlets, and only one bathroom for the entire front cabin.
