Status Miles decrease on short haul routes?
 
In Feb I flew YXU-YYZ and YYZ-BDL and I received 500 status miles for each segment.

I flew these again this month (March) and I received only 250 for the YXU-YYZ segment and only 371 for the YYZ-BDL segment.

What gives? In both cases I was on the same fare class.

The ticket prices have certainly not decreased since Feb. Why am I receiving fewer status miles?

Did your status change on March 1? That's the only thing I can think of is that AC thinks you have no status and so you're earning the no status rate of min 250 instead of 500.

oh crap. it's true. my status went from (old system) Elite down to ... nothing, I'm afraid, for now (I didn't travel much last year at all due to family issues at home).

I guess it's start-from-scratch time. Ugh. Back to the 99%
