... Air fares in Canada have remained at historic levels, while U.S. fares have fallen more than 40 per cent since 1983, according to a new U.S. study.
And unless the government opens Canadian skies to foreign competition, passengers may never see U.S.-style price drops, says the economist who wrote the study...

We do, but until one can read the full study, the numbers presented in the G&M leave a lot to be desired, and to me -- someone who deals in numbers and stats -- may be suspect. The number that is worth noting is that Canada has only one-half the per capita use of flying for travel than in the US. This is a further argument as to why this market cannot be profitable or support national competition in the traditional fashion.
Hopefully, the full study will be posted somewhere, then we can made informed comments about its validity.

Well.....as far as AC is concerned....my usual junket used to be at least $1,600-2,200 CDN....now it's $995.
