100,000 miles short of Super Elite
Just wanted to get ahead of the crowd -- why wait for December?
Any advice gratefully received.

If you'd collected United, after this many years, you'd be star gold for life! I don't even monitor EQMs anymore.

Interesting question though - Assuming a base in YVR, what would be the quickest path to SE? X segments in Exec First to SYD?

Yes, but you posted that *last* year (in some part of the world anyway - like Hawaii.)

No I wasn't!
Think of it as a cry for help/coping mechanism.
Or more likely an admonishment to all those who, come next December, will be lamenting that they didn't do a connection somewhere that would have put them *just over* some theshold. It's going to be a much bigger issue this year.
In years past, if you earned between, say, 40K and 70K, it just didn't matter. Under the old scheme (for most people) there was no way you were going to make the next level no matter how many extra connections you made. But now with 6 levels scattered at relatively closely spaced intervals, come the end of the year almost everyone will be within a weekend mileage run of the next level. And a lot of those people will be within 1 or 2 or 3 extra "connections" of that next level.
If you think this past December saw a lot of "what should I do" posts, wait 'til next December.
The time to start strategizing for it is now, when you have lots of time and even more options. Yes there will be times when you might be lamenting to yourself "why did I take this stupid connection when I could have been home by now."
But is that better or worse than lamenting that connection, or not, in the second week of December?

I'm pretty confident they'll comp me to at least Basic.
