2002 Status Changes Starting
 

My status was changed to Elite last night and a friend's to Prestige. While the flights putting each of us over the top were in late November we each had to send in BPs as AC was RESIII inept at SYD at that time. My points posted in early Dec and friend's approx. Jan 8th and both show the upgraded status in voice response system (not on web page quite yet).

Same here. Reached 35K with a flight on Dec 28. Online it still says P, on the phone it says Elite. How would they treat us at the airport?

It takes a while for the online page to change. [Usually 24 hours or so] What ever it said on the IVR is what is shown on AC's system. So your boarding pass should show your new status.

I wonder whether this all means we'll be getting our new package really soon.

My SE is showing now on the IVR now. It's a somewhat bittersweet feeling, given what's happened to the benefits.

I was feeling a bit blue about the fact that I just reached E (I had it 2 years ago, but was P in between) and the way things are looking for me, I probably will barely fly AC this coming year- probably just a couple of YYZ-NY's. Reading the boards here I'm beginning to feel lucky. Sad, no?

Just a heads up. If you call the E/SE desks, your profile may not show your status change yet. If that's the case, ask that they call the AP help desk to confirm - otherwise you may not be able to take advantage of this brief period of the "good old days" benefits

Yup, both my wife and I are Elite on the phone system, but still Basic on the web site.

Our points totals haven't been adjusted on either system for my recent 400K point withdrawal. Do *A awards take longer to hit the account?

My wife will still have enough points for a NA reward flight. Do you think I'd stand a chance at getting them to convert a revenue seat in March? I'll try Monday and see what happens.

Last year in the transition period (from prestige to elite) I found the enhanced status 'worked' with United Airlines where they saw me as *G and gave me lounge access, etc, but was not recognized by AC until March 1. But it doesn't hurt to try.

That's pretty neat! UA recognizes your support of AC, but AC doesn't!

Just an update. I phoned the AP Elite number and re-instated the mileage in my wife's account for two NA award flights we didn't use that were booked in August. When I changed the bookings, she was a Basic member and I was told that there would be a $50 fee to reinstate the points so I just left the awards outstanding. The system now recognizes her new status as Elite and, since the awards were booked before Dec 1, there was no fee. So it appears that people who have upgraded their status have a month and a half to take advantage of the "old" rules.

Anyone have their status change in the voice response sys but not online? It changed in voice response Friday night but is not yet reflected on web page.

Elite status now shows up online for both my wife and myself. It looks like they've done their update. Hopefully I'll show *G at the airport now!
