Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

NOTE: Rouge Wifi information can be found here

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

Thank you for the feedback guys. I've changed to 3A.
Yesterday I was the only one to have selected their seat in that cabin. Today I saw the only other seats taken were now 2A and 2K. Clearly bulkhead isn't the place to be in this case.

Another opinion — I always take row 1 on Rouge 319. I dislike people reclining back towards me and row one has room for my knees. Feels more spacious to me. I’ve had good luck with row 2 people responding affirmatively to my request to put something small under my seat for take off/landing.

Risking being accused of being inconsiderate once more on here, in row three I have less qualms about putting my seat back in row three than I do in rows one or two.

Perhaps this is worthy of it's own thread, but any speculation (wild or otherwise) about when/what might be replacements for the Rouge fleet? Despite AC's best efforts, those 767s aren't going to last forever. I think it's quite possible and reasonable to expect that some of the new A220s and/or 73Ms (and/or an increased order for these types) could serve as narrowbody replacements, but the widebody fleet seems to be anyone's guess at this point?

AC has started to buy more used junk from other airlines. some 330s coming from TAP, yup TAP will buy new 330s and send some 10 year old planes to AC. And AC is flying the oldest A320s in the world lets hope the 220s replace them because the 737 deliveries have been delayed.

Which is completely unrelated to rouge.

Those A330s spent a year or two at TAP. They’re originally from SQ...hardly junk. Similar to UAs used ‘junk’ A319s from China Southern.

According to an article dated Feb 2018, Air Canada wont be exploring replacement options for the 767s at Rouge until the early 2020s.

‘Air Canada is also slowly preparing for the upcoming replacement of its B767-300(ER)s.....The airline is currently exploring "tactical" options of replacing some of the oldest aircraft with younger units and will not decide on a complete replacement before 2020.’

That is just regarding a decision on replacement. The fleet will not be replaced until mid-decade. AC is likely waiting for more info on the upcoming 797 before deciding.

AC wants to replace all the Rouge 767’s with the 787-8’s but mainline pilots are holding this up because of the 787’s range.

In RV configuration, range won't be an issue.

Source? Newer 787s at Rouge would only raise costs. What makes Rouge viable is using unencumbered high-density planes. Besides, who is to say AC will buy new aircraft to replace the 767s?
Maybe they will purchase more used A330s, move them all to Rouge to replace the 767s.

A AC pilot who sat in on the talks with AC management.

Aircraft operating cost is a non-trivial analysis, and in may cases requires trading certain moderately high costs with guess work .

Aircraft A, the 1000th off the line, with a open market of parts, from OEM A, paired with engines P, SN 5343 and 5344 from OEM P with cloth seats replaced every 10 years, could well end up being cheaper then Aircraft B, 14 off the line that ends up being shut down after 74, from OEM B, paired with engines 28 and 29 from OEM G with leather seats replaced every 5 years. Even if A & P cost 2x per mile of gas to fly then B & G.
