Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

NOTE: Rouge Wifi information can be found here
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...l#post28448087

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

I also miss the map feature. I like to listen to an audiobook and occasionally watch the map.

Does the app also have map feature?
The ipad would have to be connected to the navigation system for that to happen. Not sure how the traditional moving maps are connected.
There's always flightradar24 if your plane has wifi.

The good, the bad, and the ugly (not the film).......

The Good: Recent ACr flight (transborder) had a significantly improved choice of IFE films. A couple of them were in the running for best picture this year. Pleasant surprise.

The Bad: meal as described by flyquiet upthread. New treatment for chicken -- in barbecue sauce. The chicken consisted of 8 or 10 miniature rubber balls. The sauce, at least, had some flavour. Did I mention there was exactly 3 forkfuls of salad? Why is it so hard to provide a healthy option? Snack basket came 35 min before landing. However, there were KitKats.

The Ugly: flight was oversold. Very angry people at the gate trying to understand why tx they bought months ago weren't getting them on the flight. Only one gate agent. No back up. He tried very hard to explain what would happen and how he would work on it. Conducted himself in an exemplary fashion, in the circumstances.

Situation escalated. Passengers became more irate. Truly felt sorry for the agent. Offered to back him up if necessary. He didn't deserve what he got.

I guess that this is the 'master thread', but I was told by the crew today that YYJ-YYZ is going to be rouged effective May 1. I just tried a couple of random flights in May and it definitely comes up as rouge . I guess I'll have to change in Vancouver in the future, but it's definitely an extra hassle that I don't need (or else take WJ and pay for the front row).

Despite the large number of SEs living in Victoria (including, apparently, an SEMM in the back today!), this route is almost always upgradable for me, though Y is usually close to full.

Um, I posted it on Jan 24 in the Rouge thread and included screen shots from AC.com

I caught it back then as some of us were in the middle of planning our flights for the May 6 YYJ Do

I have had at least 9 ACr flights this year. One of my pet peeves is the safety announcements. These FAs speak so quickly that what is being delivered in the message is mostly gibberish to me. The FAs stumble on words often. Not sure why the race to get it over with. They are there for our safety, first.

Perhaps a letter to the Transportation Safety Board could improve their speech

It is less than gibberish to most people because they aren't listening. In any case "there for our safety, first" is a misleading mantra used primarily to excuse customer service lapses. The reality is that F/A's are there (and should be there) for customer service first, as in that is the most significant part of their job with respect to time and customer interaction; safety is first only in terms of a few mandatory check-list items at very limited times of flight and in the rare event of competing priorities.

For whatever reason, I pay attention on every flight to the safety announcements when done by the FAs . Those done by screen, not so much so.
