Classic Flight Award Tickets on Aeroplan
 

Hello,

I'm a relative newbie here. I would like to book 2 award tickets on Aeroplan at the Classic Flight level, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any availability for one of my dates, since its during the holiday season.

Will Aeroplan release any more Classic Flight awards as we get closer to the holidays?

If I want to combine an economy and biz class award, it seems to charge me the biz class award price. Is there any way around this?

Is there any way to book alternate flights not listed on the Aeroplan award engine? e.g. are other United/US Airways options available?

I have occasionally seen AP open up availability two weeks ahead, but I really wouldn't count on it, especially not at a heavy travel time.

Pretty much all airlines charge the rate for the highest segment booked as to economy/biz/first. (Keeping in mind that interntional bix tix carry the right to domestic F, if available at the same award level.) No way around that. In fact, a lot of people will take Y on the domestic segments to get the low miles on the overseas segments, if that's all that's available.

You could try the United booking engine, keeping in mind that only saver awards will generally be available to partners. USAir is pointless as it doesn't show partner availability at all (so it would only routings entirely on AC metal).
