YVR to PEK (Oct 9)
....waitlisted for this one on Lattitude ticket. Leaves 1215pm Tuesday 9th.
Not used to being waitlisted wise FFs:
1) What are the chances?
2) I supposedly am waitlisted already (!!) But how am I best to maximise my chances? Not even sure if I should call Friday or Saturday at 1215pm

If you're waitlisted already, then the only thing to do next is to check in at T-24 hours, I believe your waitlist status is transferred over to the airport upgrade list.

Move your date to either the 8th or 10th, I see some cheap business class fares on KE, MU and CZ at about the same price as AC's Latitude, unless you are chasing for Status Miles. Personally, I wouldn't buy Latitude unless I am able to confirm my upgrade at time of booking. In any case, the difference between Latitude and discount Executive First is usually <$200 for YVR-PEK. One may as well buy discount Executive First.
