Looking at a trip to italy in dec. Shows AC T bucket to EWR then LH L bucket EWR-FLR and back. Question is on the AE site only S and W show 50%
F, A, C, J, D, Z, P1, Y, B, M, H, Q, V, G, U show 100% but there is no L, so does that mean it earns nothing and an other ( carrier ) option should be explored.

Yes, L earns nothing if it's not mentioned in the chart. Always watch out for the following classes: K,L,E, as they are usually the lowest on LH fare system and they don't earn miles.
