Announcing Air Canada Altitude
Hi everyone,
The wait is over – today, we’re pleased to announce Air Canada Altitude, the new name for the Air Canada Top Tier Program beginning March 1, 2013. Later today, all of you will be receiving an e-mail announcing the full details of the new program, including the tier names and all of the associated benefits. Below is a sneak peek, with some important details. As previously announced in December 2011, Air Canada Altitude will feature two new status levels versus the 2012 Air Canada Top Tier Program, and has been redesigned to better recognize and reward our customers in line with their travel frequency. The status levels are as follows: Below are some of the most significant additions & changes to take note of: eUpgrade Credits. The number of eUpgrade Credits required has remained largely unchanged. For members traveling on journeys under 500 miles, now only 4 credits will be required with most Tango Plus fares. This is mainly designed for members flying Rapidair, or our western triangle service between Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. At the opposite end of the spectrum, those flying on international journeys over 11,000 miles will be charged a larger number of credits. Naturally, this better aligns the value of our Executive First product with distance travelled.Air Canada Altitude members will benefit from Air Canada's partnership with the Aeroplan Program, and will still be Aeroplan members. Air Canada Altitude is designed to recognize Air Canada's most frequent flyers with a range of priority travel services. Aeroplan offers a wide range of ways to earn and redeem Aeroplan Miles with over 150 partners. As today, the Status Miles earned on eligible flights with Air Canada and the Star Alliance member airlines, which count towards Air Canada Altitude status, are also redeemable Aeroplan Miles. While these are the highlights, we encourage you to visit aircanada.com/altitude to learn even more about Air Canada Altitude. You can also review the Program FAQs here. As a reminder, take note that these changes apply to the 2013 benefit year beginning March 1, 2013, and do not impact the 2012 benefits that are currently in effect. To that end, more details will be forthcoming later this year regarding the launch of Air Canada Altitude, including the what’s, when’s and how’s of choosing Select Privileges, receiving your welcome package, introducing the new status levels and – of course most importantly for all of you – activating the new benefits. It's also worth mentioning that there's more to come. Next year, we will launch a full website for Air Canada Altitude, which will become the hub for your status, privileges and more. We're also working on some behind the scenes changes that will make things more smooth & consistent when you're traveling with us – including improved recognition for Million Mile members that we’re pretty sure they’re going to like. To stay up to date in the meantime, remember that the latest program details will always be posted at aircanada.com/altitude. As always, we’ll stay in close contact through e-mails and our social media channels over the coming weeks & months. We look forward to welcoming you to Air Canada Altitude in March 2013. |

aircanada.com/altitude has full program info.

Found this gem of an 'enhancement' buried in the FAQ section on the website"
"Why are the number of eUpgrade Credits awarded to Altitude Super Elite 100K members as part of the Threshold eUpgrade program being decreased?" |
Thanks!
Any chance you are looking at Threshold gifts based on segments instead of just miles for those of us that do this the hard way? |
Looks like Maple Leaf Lounges located in the international departures zone of London Heathrow, Montreal, Toronto, Paris and Vancouver are now just Star Alliance Gold lounges.
|
For SE, only 12 eupgrades per 20K now instead of 15 and only 25 at 100K instead of 30. In total, 17 less after reaching 100K
|
The SE choice of nominating a friend to E 50k is a nice one. Maybe we will see it on CC forum soon?! $90 change fee waived on AE is about time.
35k changes are bad, but not too bad considering most 35k fliers are ones that fly domestically and with AC. |

Prestige loses their nominee.
|
I am just wondering what flights are 11001+ miles
Even YYZ-SYD is only 9900'ish edit: Planning for the 787 maybe? |
Any info on early recognition this year?? MIGHT hit 75K in the next month...
