Actually 12, as we get 70 to start rather than 65

Lifetime 1mm status is at Altitude Elite 50K.

There is a level at Altitude Elite 75K before the Super Elite 100K.

May there be some consideration at 2mm for the Altitude Elite 75K rather than what is currently offered? Would line up with Lifetime SE 100K for 3mm's

Broadly, I support the changes but the spin in the FAQs, especially for 50k, is ridiculous

For the 2013 program, members earning 50,000 Status Miles or 50 Status Flight Segments (now known as Altitude Elite 50K) will be entitled to the benefits that they’ve come to enjoy with 2012 Elite status. On top of this, they will be rewarded with:

Improved upgrade priority
Yeah, over 35k and decreased priority since 75k will be above them
Additional eUpgrade Credits
For which there will now be a higher redemption rate on longer flights (so a wash)

Early recognition is for the balance of the current year, so you'll get the current lineup.

So how many status miles are required for *A *Gold now?

No really bad surprise since the first announcement, 35k status sucks but this was already expected (except maybe the no-access to international MLL - which shouldn't be a problem for Amex Plat cardholders).

On the surface, looks like there might actually be some improvements for SE's to go along with the inevitable clawbacks.

I like the nomination option and the e-upgrade option for Aeroplan reward travel.

SE chooses 2/4 of 1) 100% bonus 2) 50 eups 3) requal lowered to 95k/90 or 4) E50 for a friend. Are the 40 credits worth losing the >100k bonus miles?

True,

And you can also gift Elite 50K to someone and use the 40 e-upgrades for yourself as a nominee

I am curious to the "improved recognition" statement for Million Mile members. As it stands, IMO, there are no benefits with this program when one currently has status.
