The Fairmont at YVR overlooks airside - and would probably give you a nice view, but I've never stayed there... i've always foolishly chosen to stay at the old one that's downtown so that I could take some mutt that they pass of as a respectable hotel dog for a 20 minute walk. A "Canine Ambassador" they call him. Of course, the dog is so poorly trained that the entire "walk" is spent trying to prevent said dog from eating garbage and getting sick... and when I complain to the manager, I aways get the old "Our usual dog is on vacation"
Q: What's a cheap way to see the domestic terminal at YVR?
A: I hate the dogs that a downtown hotel lends out for free

Tonight would have been a good night to be at the hotel.
An AC 767 clipped a wingtip on the blast fence while it was under tow.
Don't know how bad the damage is. Probably not much. It could take a day or two to get it back in service.
