It's the AC way - don't give incentives, it might satisfy the customers

Thanks, dorian, for this posting. I ordered the airport playset for my four year old. It looks like AC has done some kind of deal with a promotional product co, Signa-Marco promotions; nothing obvious on the web about them except that they belong to a trade association of promotional products companies.

For online ordering, this was simple. Question remains about speed of delivery and actual product quality. But stuck at IAD, I decided to spend $25 on the toy.

(Of course the flight to IAD --with free booze at the Red Carpet Club -- cost $27.00. Somehow AC is not getting rich from my travels.)

The "Leather Travel Organizer" looks very similar to the 150K gift selection - has anyone received this as their gift? If so, is it worth $95.00?

Lufthansa's got some neat merchandise ... there's good margin in this stuff and AC should apply its brand to more of these products.

Ken,

I'd go with the Uncle Milton Ant Farm myself. The airline could say that it simulates life at YYZ during the AC/CP merger.

ABW: I would choose the 35K Aeroplan miles gift over the "Leather Travel Organizer" at 150K Q miles. 35K gets you a long haul Y ticket and it's worth a lot more than the Organizer.

Yes, 35K will get you an ExecClass ticket anywhere in NAmerica during the sale period. This makes it worth over $3.5K when cashed in for a decent transcon, so opting for a $95 leather document wallet would be the supreme waste of money and miles!
