AC's Reputation
The current Conde Nast Traveler has published the results of a survey of "The Most Frequest Travelers". Admittedly it's heavily weighted to American business travel but, in the airline section that rates business-class and coach-class cabins, AC appears only once and that's in "Transpacific Airlines Most in Need of Improvement". There it shares space with Air India, Air China, Korean Air and Philippine Airlines.

Flyboy: Just how many trips have you taken across the Pacific on AC that allows you to make a judgement that AC needs improvement on transpacific routes??
|
AC needs improvement on all routes.

Nice punt, Fly Boy.
For my own account, all my AC has been transboarder, save one transatlantic out of YYZ, since mostly I fly UA / LH. I can say that the longhaul AC was better than UA, for sure, but I was in the back of the bus that time. The shorthauls were okay, not exceptional, but not awful either, and changes and upgrading was relatively painless. The fruitflies buzzing around and on the food in the MLL lounge at YYZ was quite off-putting though!!! |
Fly Boy, you know nothing about AC's transatlantic and transpacific service unless you lie about your travel.

I have quite clearly stated in previous posts that I have flown AC across the Atlantic. You should really calm down - you are far too excitable today.
|
Flyboy: Dorian was making weekly trips across the Atlantic last year and I flew tons of flights across the Pacific, yet we don't complain anywhere close to your level, are we missing something?
|
I can't really agree with the assessment. I have flown AC transpac several times over the past few months and have always been really satisfied, in fact they are my first choice over the pacific. I certainly prefer them to UA any day.

Most "normal" business travellers I know avoid AC when their trip involves crossing an ocean. As for the "normal" business travellers that you know, I am not really surprised that they are avoiding AC especially with your daily friendly reminder to them that AC is bad with everything. Do you actually tell them "Friends don't let friends fly AC?" If so, that explains why.. |

My A340 J seat YVR-YYZ didn't have laptop power. Since it started in HKG earlier in the day, that alone merits a "most in need of improvement".
My 767 YYZ-LHR did have power in J, so no "F" for Atlantic service http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by skofarrell (edited 10-03-2001).] |
