Just arrived in my in-box.

"Dear Air Canada Customer,

None of us will ever forget the events of September 11, 2001-events that changed all of our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families as well as with our colleagues at United Airlines and American Airlines.

As it has always been, our immediate and number one priority is your safety. We have implemented enhanced security measures throughout the network and are working closely with Transport Canada, the RCMP and
U.S. government agencies to ensure maximum security. Let me reassure you that, at Air Canada, your safety will never be compromised.

The events of September 11th have also been financially devastating for the airline industry worldwide. Nearly every major airline in the United States and several around the world have already announced
significant service and employment reductions due to the instantaneous and dramatic drop off in traffic and revenues.
In the United States, the Bush Administration and the U.S. Congress have passed a CAD$23 billion package aimed at stabilizing the airline industry during this time of great uncertainty. Most of Canada's airlines have also approached the federal government seeking similar support. Clearly, the Canadian airline industry is not immune from
the events of September 11th and some level of government support is necessary at this time. However, the decision to support Canada's airlines ultimately rests with the federal government and regardless of their decision, Air Canada is determined to implement our action plan aimed at controlling costs and enhancing profitability.
As we had started to do throughout August and early September, we will be introducing a number of new initiatives in response to
changing consumer needs. We look forward to sharing these new initiatives with you in the weeks and months ahead.

Regarding operations, most flights are taking off as scheduled. This includes Air Canada Regional Inc.†, all international and most
U.S. transborder services. We also expect to continue to increase our level of operations in the short term. To find out the latest
