Expertflyer.com shows R0 as of 2:55 pm on Feb 6, which is not terribly surprising. A dummy booking on AC's website shows 15 available seats in J, all down the centre strip.

YYZ-FRA is normally a very difficult route to upgrade on, especially considering how many SE's and E's are on a typical flight. But those 15 empties are promising. Check in as early as possible and keep your fingers crossed.

J4 Z0 R0 and the back has quite a lot of availability. You may be lucky closer in as there are still a quite a few spots up front.

There are not 15 seats available. I assume you got that from looking at the seatmap. The seatmap is not an accurate way to find out how many seats are still available as many purchased tickets just haven't been assigned seats yet.

You can see by attempting to purchase 5 J tix and you won't be able too. But you can buy 4.

seat map & seats sold

Thanks all for information.
As we all know seat map not always shows what is available.
On this specfic flight, the map shows 15 J as available. From good source at AC I'm told only 3 are not sold.
