Half J/ Half Y?

My entire family is going to Kelowna for a vacation this summer, and because of work/summer classes, a bunch of us are flying out on different days. My brothers (no status) are looking at some pretty good J offers (204 one way for T+ vs. 340 for J), with the main benefits being the increased baggage limits, priority security at YEG (6.30am departure, they're not morning people), and lounge access. Here's the problem: the YEG-YVR-YEG portions have J, but the YVR-YLW-YVR portions are on DH3's, no J, and they'd be booked into "V", which I know is a T+ fare. My question now is, will they get lounge access in YVR on the outbound leg (after coming off a flight in J, onto a flight in Y), and will they get priority check in in YLW on the return with the same J baggage allowance?

If they don't, they'll probably just fly WJ, as they fly direct some 3 or 4 times each day, and their fares are equal to AC's Tango fares. I on the other hand, am most likely going to be going on AC via. YYC. Nothing quite like flying over the mountains in a Dash!

I think you would be eligible for lounge access in YVR as an "arrivals lounge" by showing your J boarding pass...

Again not 100% sure, better to check with AC reservations.

This is correct. Use The J pass and should be no problem. My wife has done the same thing with no status a number of times.

Won't be a problem....my aunt flew YUL-YYZ-YQG r/t J to Y and then the inverse...and also YUL-YVR-YCD, J to Y....MLL without question in all airports where so equipped.
