Slow to post AC status miles due to 2012 benefits?
I fly long haul AC metal 4 days ago and still not posting of mileage which would put me into 2012 E status.
Usually posts quickly but is it possible that due to the 2012 benefits being released today that they will delay posting mileage that puts on into P E or SE?

The opening of 2012 benefits selection has nothing to do with how quickly your flights will post. Each year AC opens selection in mid-December, as they did today. They do a sweep of accounts in the first week of December and those who have crossed the respective lines get the invitation email and their accounts are unlocked to permit selection. (This year I believe the sweep actually occurred on November 22nd based on the email many of us who had crossed the line(s) on the 24th from Ben Ben.)
However, if you were within 5K of Elite on the 22nd you will be locked out of selecting your Prestige benefits because AC believes you might have enough new flights to post by the end of the year to make Elite. Similarly, if you are somewhere in the mid-point between Elite and SE, you won't be able to select Elite benefits as they feel you might make SE, unless your profile of previous years' status shows clearly this is the level you always attain.
This is done since some people around here have been scamming the system by holding back flight credits once they pass a qualifying threshold on the assumption they will then be able to select those benefits, then send in the remaining uncredited flights that will put them over another threshold and chose those benefits too.
Generally the second sweep is conducted a few days into January to capture flights through to the end of the year that post a few days after December 31st.

I'd like to believe that but previously flights posted 2 maybe 3 days max. I'm at 4 days and no post. Also the miles from a cancelled reward fix have not shown up and that's been 3 days also.

I'm quite happy that I'm not the only one, missing miles that have been earned with avis etc. I was worried that my last flight (tango plus fare) to Hawaii didn't count and thought I'd have to do a mileage run of some sort between now and December 31!!!

Oddly enough, my flight on the 14th on LX has now posted, but my flight on the 11th on OS still has not. Neither one would put me over any threshold or move me from E to SE, so I imagine they're just backlogged for whatever reason.
