I wonder if they will raise the qualification requirements for E and SE as well as introduce a new level between E and SE (as United, Delta, and USAir have already done).

if they are going to raise E to 50k, they should award those who fly AC steel .....maybe bonus those flights..... as 50k is much easier to reach with other airlines than AC.
Making it 50K based on current rules would drive significant business to other carriers IMO.

I honestly doubt that SE would be raised. UA, DL, US, AA, LH group, etc. all have their top tier (SE equivalent) at 100K. I would be very surprised if they wouldn't raise the requirements for E though. Even ET (the newest *A member with a limited network) has the Gold level set at 50K.

It basically says to me, "here, we aren't changing the program but we had to make some claw-backs just to keep you on your toes."
I agree, this is a little claw-back that can't be saving them much money but slapping some of is in teh face for earning 150k+ each year....

Not quite, it depends on how many miles you have. As an E with 52,000 miles I just made my selection an hour ago. People sitting at 90,000 OTOH will probably be made to wait.

Likewise, at 58K and allowed to select. Praying my e-ups come through in time for my trip to BKK.

I didn't understand why people speak about non-statut miles in bundle 2 and I found something interesting :
it is actually non-statut miles in the English version but in the french version they ARE statut miles

i think they meant a new intermediate level between Elite and Super Elite.... like the Platinum (75K) level that American carriers have recently introduced

Ditto. I'm a new E with a whopping 38,000 and I can select within the next 58 days.

Haven't decided what, however...

What are other Es out there thinking of selecting? I don't know what kind of flying I'll be doing exactly in 2012, in Y, don't know many people that I can give MLL passes to (rather, that they can use - non AC/*A flights). How do other value the tade-offs between SM, 50% bonus and eUpgrades? I don't relish making the same noob boo-boo in selecting by early recognition benefits in 2011

Cheers,

Whitey

I also hope they have a more stringent Top Tier qualifying criteria than 10,000 BIS....

Like you have to spend $2000 on AC minimum in addition to *A BIS to obtain P, $3000 on AC minimum in addition to *A BIS to obtain E and $6000 on AC minimum in addition to *A BIS to obtain SE.

This way they can get rid of some free loaders (those that fly UA/CO/US on cheap fares and meeting only the very minimum 10,000 miles to obtain E or SE).

I meant an intermediate level between E and SE. And, by the way, Delta's top tier is now 125,000. I think they made that change a year ago. Its now 25/50/75/125

I would welcome something like this:

P : 25k
E : 40k
E+:70k (same benefits as E, but 5 day window and higher priority)
SE:100k
