This is the first that I've heard that you can't borrow points on Amex Gold..
You have until December 12th, 2011 to put another 700 points on the cc.. I would go out and buy all of your wants and wishes for this holiday season asap.. or buy something that you will refund after the fact..

I am a bit lost here with the way bonus applies. I transfered 75K amex so far from two accounts (48k + 27k). How much bonus should I expect and would it make sense to transfer another 25k mr to reach the next threshold and maximize the bonus to I assume 20k total.

Since you are willing to pay, why not just go and get $350 worth of Shoppers Gift Cards. You get Shoppers points when you purchase the actual Shoppers Gift Cards and you still get points when you use these Shoppers Gift Cards to purchase items within the store --- so it is double-dipping. Or you can always use the Shoppers Gift Cards and purchase other gift cards available at the store. This way you still get Shoppers points when you purchasing any gift card.

Question.. My wife just built up another 4,300 points in Amex Gold.. and we redeemed 5,900 points earlier last week..
My understanding of this thread promo is the total accumulated points Amex Gold transferred to AE crossing thresholds will achieve bonus levels.. so if we transfer the 4,300 points having just transferred 5,900, am I to assume that she will cross the 10,000 point threshold and get another 1,000 bonus points?..
My wife received 1,000 bonus points already for crossing the 5,000 point threshold..

If you buy one $350 gift card u'll only get $50 worth of shoppers points. Learned this the hard way ..

hmm, I just bought a few $200 gift cards and a few $100 gift cards last week on my AMEX Gold Card and I got 2000 Shoppers Points for each transaction. How long ago did you notice this $50 limitation?

Called Aeroplan and they said I should've transferred the 5,000 first and then the 50,000 later.

Base on my experience, you will get the 15K bonus if you transfer another 25K. What I did was 1st transfer is a few thousand below 50K, got my bonus of 4K (20K threshold) and then I transfer the few thousand that make up the 50K, and I got another 6K bonus for a total of 10K, which is the bonus for the 50K threshold.

If I transfer 40K spg points twice, the bonus will be 25K miles in total instead of 10K+10K. Am I right???

- 5K regular bonus for each 20K SPG transfer for a total of 10K AEROPLAN
- This promo will give you another 10K AEROPLAN for meeting the 50K Thresholds
So, I got the 10K+10K that you were referring to. Did I miss something?
EDIT:
What I missed is the word "twice". So by performing the above twice, it will get to the 100K Transfer and get the 25K Bonus
