Names Changes on Flight Pass
Can a flight pass like the 8-credit Florida Pass for two people that allows name changes for $100 be effectively used for four people, by changing the second name twice? For example, is it possible to buy the pass, use 2 credits for persons A and B on flight 1, change the second name to person C, and also book on the same flight 1?
The terms and conditions say, “Names changes will be permitted for a fee of $100, per name changed. Changes to the Flight Pass owner are not permitted.” I'm wondering if it's really that simple, with no other restrictions? |
I had never own a flight pass, but my understanding is that you can't change the name while that passenger has a flight reserved.
I will let others comment if my understanding is true or not. |

I called Air Canada and they confirmed what alc and YEG USER said. Thanks everyone for the help!

I'm on the road with apple mobile devices so I can't get to the flight pass t&c section on the AC website - does anybody know if name changes are permitted for a fee on the one-person flight passes? Ie my wife had a sun pass with 6 credits, has used 4 and won't use the last two before it expires (extension option aside), but I could definitely use the credits. Wondering if we can pay to name change.

Sadly, no. Name changes are only allowed on multi-person passes.
The Flight Pass can only be used by the Flight Pass owner. However, a Flight Pass owner can request a transfer of the Flight Pass if the Flight Pass was purchased for business travel and paid for by a business or not-for profit organization, that is duly registered and doing business in Canada (each referred to as an "Eligible Business"). In order to make such a transfer, the Flight Pass owner must request a name change to the Flight Pass. Name changes may be requested by contacting Customer Relations. The Flight Pass owner will be required to complete a form waiving all rights to the Flight Pass and giving Air Canada authorization to effect a name change on behalf of the Eligible Business. Flight Pass name changes are subject to Air Canada's consent and a fee of $125 CAD, plus applicable taxes, will apply. |
Notwithstanding the T&C, the domestic business flight passes I use allow one to add names (for the fee) without removing another.

I actually believe that clause I found in the single-user 10 credit is new wording, or I just never noticed it before. It kinda means the single-user latitude FP has a little more value than a completely non-transferable one. |

Trying to figure out if this is new wording under the domestic Latitude (not flex/tango) 10 credit flight passes I've checked recently (such as EastWest, Oil regional, etc):

The FPs I purchase still show the non-transferability verbiage.

DC is talking about business/non-profit FP so those of us who buy the passes individually for personal use or to submit for post hoc reimbursement would not have that privilege.
