Opening day: AC inaugurates new YWG terminal
Today is day 1 for the new terminal at YWG. AC is christening it with the first departure, AC 256 for YYZ.

As much as I will miss the classic look of the old place, the new Cesar Pelli-designed terminal will be a welcome sight for travellers (annoying AIF notwithstanding).
EDIT: Found some better views of the new terminal - check 'em out!

Impressive
I took part in the passenger trials and I can tell you it's impressive. I do have a question though, is there still a dedicated exec and super elite counter? When I was there I didn't see it and they're saying the counters are common use so I wasn't sure.

Would the first person passing through the new MLL please post some photos. I shall be there on Friday evening, but hopefully someone from here will be there sooner.
I am hoping the new lounge will have more seats. Will the style match existing MLLs?

Sorry didn't take any photos
there is a priority checkin line (no dedicated SE line)
the airport authority had a couple of tables set up with complementary orange juice and chocolate covered cherries. The air Canada mascot was there as well giving out complementary luggage tags...
there is still the nexus line for security and it has been expanded to include SE and E only. (PS it took 45 minutes just to get through nexus security, and 3 hardware failures later...)
new lounge sucks, its small narrow and claustrophobic. reminds me of YQR lounge but with 8 seats instead of 4. The do have a neat cold buffet, which I hope stays longer than just today, includes fresh tropical fruits, and chocolate covered strawberries. they were also giving out quite nice leather luggage tags in the lounge (i'd say they are better than our Top Tier tags), you can slide in your own business card. I will post photos when I get into YYJ this afternoon.
The interior designers for the lounge were there this morning touring around with AC Execs and the concierges.
Concierges were more interested in wining and dining AC Execs then paying attention to SE's ;-) (not that I needed any help this morning)

I wouldn't be surprised if AC beefed up a contract to put in a really big dumpster downstairs

I'll post a link with all the relevant photos late this afternoon. I went through this morning, enroute to YYZ/YUL and snapped photos everywhere. No problems going through security at 10:00am.. it took 10 minutes. The CATSA agents were getting used to scanning boarding passes there (didn't do it before, just visually inspected)... and there was a problem with a First Air boarding pass in front of me.

Mascots
Sounds like he/she could be taken down quite easily by Dusty, the Delta Air Lion....even Susie, the cutie at DL PVD check-in, knew why he was named Dusty.

The airport looks pretty decent but could have been a bit more daring.

Here's the link -- with approx 50 photos on opening day.

Free wifi is expected terminal-wide, but I didn't have time to try it out - was too busy snapping photos all over the place.
