At 1200 bonus points, it isn't quite at the Kraft Dinner level, but Quality Street are very tasty chocolates. A great gift if you are looking for something < $20

Yeah and if you go to Walmart, it's probably cheaper still. SDM is selling Neo Citron for $7.99.. regular price $11.99.. Went to Walmart and they were selling for $4.79!!

by the way Sobeys is also selling 2L pop which can get you 750 sobeys points but you have to buy 4. And they're not cheap.. $2.79 or something and it says limit 8.. Yeah right.. like anymore is going to pay that when they can get it for 99 cents elsewhere..

i think this store must have got hit by the Kraft dinner people too.

I live 200m from Sobeys, and I rarely shop there.

Insane prices, I can go down to No Frills or FreshCo, all less than 5 mins away, and pay half price for most stuff.

The problem is all of us on this board only go to Sobey's for the AP points. But if someone were going for the Sobeys points themselves, they could buy 2 for ~$40.00...they would earn 2600 SPoints, which are worth $15 for 2000 or $20 for 2600--so they are getting about $18 discount for their future shopping for a net of $22 for the 2 ...which is not much different that the price Shoppers is flogging them for.

Smoke and mirrors from Sobey's, but then again, is that not what AP is doing as well?

By my calculations, the 4x2L Coke (2.49 each) is a better deal at 3.00 cents/AE mile than the 19.99 chocolates at 3.76 cents/mile (both incl tax). But I don't want either product.

Sobey's routinely omits advertising the actual price for these bonus specials.

Took my son to Walmart today for some video game he wanted. They happened to have the Quality Street on a display right near the door at $15.47 each, so basically one is paying an extra 4.52 plus tax for the 600 AP points at Sobeys (assuming one wanted them in the first place)

But remember that a Club Sobeys point is worth $0.008 in a credit on your grocery purchases if you don't convert them directly to Aeroplan miles. So the 1,200 bonus points are worth $9.60, making the Sobeys price better than the Wal-Mart price. They're not paying you to take them, as they did on the rich Kraft dinner deal a couple of weeks ago, but if you happen to want to buy a tin of these anyway, the cost is only about $10.39 after factoring in the value of the points.

But isn't that $9.60 only spendable at Sobeys where things are generally more expensive than other grocery stores?

You can get Petro Canada gift cards at Sobeys if you want to get value.

I don't think we will see any more of those "paying you to take them" deals, but who knows.

There's no doubt that most products at Sobey's are overpriced, but they are not unique in that regard.

We to shop at No thrills. But Its the Miles man

Most of our shopping is done on Spadina or in Kensington mrkt ,with the odd run to No Thrills. But after paying 0.03c x 30,000mls to beat the July 15 F award increase 120,000 to 175,000. enhancement by AC. We now find that at least with Sobeys over priced offers we get our 0.03c. Worth . Paying$1.99 a tin for carnation was .50c more than No thrills. Sodas were $ 2 more then others But it's the miles . Mrs n I in HKT enjoying the 2nd of 3 F awardsAnd yesterday booked 4th ( us air purchased miles). It's the miles man
