Eupgrade possibility
 

G'day,

Just a quick question - I've seen a few posts about J seat availability for upgrades. My father is an SE and is going to add me as a nominee tomorrow morning, and try to upgrade my flights. Both are tango plus AC 1124 YXE - YYZ & AC626 YYZ - YHZ. Is their currently any availability on those flights????

J = number of business class seats for sale
R = number of business class seats available for upgrades

Ergo you can confirm the upgrade on the second leg right away, the changes of your upgrade clearing on the first leg are very slim as the C/J cabin currently is sold out. (you can always put yourself on the waitlist, and if a J pax rebooks/cancels his flight, your upgrade may clear, but it´s pretty unlikely)

keep in mind once check-in starts, the upgrade waitlist will be sorted according to the individual passenger's status, if you have no status yourself, your dad's SE status won't help

for future upgrades get your dad to request the upgrade for you 168 hours in advance prior to departure for a better chance of success
