Baggage Interline Question

Hi all,

I have a trip coming up to Tahiti. Will be travelling YOW-YYZ-LAX-PPT.

As I understand, AC and Air Tahiti Nui have a baggage interline agreement. I'm assuming that after completing pre-clearance in YYZ I will not have to touch my checked bags until arriving in PPT.

Question is, does anyone have any experience checking their bags all the way to PPT? I'm worried about lost baggage. Should I request to get my bags and re-check at TBIT?? Will be moving about the islands the day after I land so wouldn't have time to wait around for the next flight to deliver my bags. Plus, I'm assuming it may be rather difficult to purchase the usual 'amenities' in some of the islands I'm going to.

Many thanks

If you're on yyz-lax-ppt on a single ticket then you don't have anything to worry about. I had a separate ticket Hawaiian addon, and the agent short tagged my bags and I spent a good 4 hours between yyz and YVR getting them to fix it.

Just double check you bag tags before your bags go on the conveyor belt.

Since you will have to exit security and change terminals in LAX anyway, I would go down to the AC baggage carousel and double check that your bags don't make an unscheduled appearance. You should have plenty of time as terminal 2 is right beside the international terminal.

thanks for the responses. I'm on a single ticket. It may still be a good idea to check to make sure they dont accidentally turn up at LAX. Though i have under a 2 hr. connection there- should be enough time but definitly not an abundance of time to run around the airport
