If you travel with 'regulation' size carry-on you will have no problems. If you're used to 'bending the rules' then you should plan on checking your bag.

The bin above 1A is quite small as it's also used for pillows etc. There's a smaller overhead at the very front that holds some emergency equipment too so obviously that part is not for pax use.
The bins above 2A & 3A are OK but as noted, those on the starboard side are a bit bigger. |

Beechcraft B1900. |
The E170/190s are my favourite "wee planes". They don't really feel wee at all. Plenty of overhead bin space compared to the CRJ1/2/7/9 series, not as much as an Airbus 320.

Get on board early...
Yes, rollaboards fit in the Y cabin bins sideways - but keep in mind, it's a smaller plane so there's fewer cubic feet of bin space.
My advice - get on board as early as you can. |
Can a Y overhead bin fit a 16" carry-on like this one?
It doesn't fit into the 767 overhead bins unless you stand it up on its side, I've come to realize. |

To YYCOllie, while I'm not 100% certain my gut tells me that a widebody is big in all the wrong ways for the E-Jets. Rollaboards have to go sideways so it could be an issue. |

I actually find the E-Jet overhead only slightly larger than the CR9, but definitely bigger than a CR7.

My regulation Rimowa fits great, with some extra space to spare (implying that US-size carryons would fit to). -- Best regards, Alex Ionescu |

In our house we call the E190 our "Baby Plane". Since Aug 29 Mrs T and I have used them twice. We always travel with rollaways and outbound I packed my bag and "had" to use the extender on my case. On board, it just didn't fit and I had to check it. This was handled efficiently by our cc member. Inbound, Mrs T packed my bag and the extender was not necessary  and it fit perfectly! Go figure. We were in Economy.
