don't know why everyone is giving MCDs a hard time! ;) sometimes after a long trip in asia, it's nice to have a big mac! (yes, i know you can get a big mac in china)... in any case, i do agree that the lounge is not intended to be a food court, so if other members are annoyed with the "smells", then the rule is valid and should be adhered to.

Like many here, I have been to lounges of numerous airlines on 7 continents and have yet to see one that allows outside food. I guess the entire industry, irregardless of country and airline, is full of morons who don't want their lounges full of food smell and garbage. This is a standard policy, especially among NA carriers. They usually won't bother you if you are discrete. If you flaunt it, they will call you on it.
