Segments on Star Alliance
Do segments flown on Star Alliance airlines count towards AC status?
For example, if I was short on segments for a tier and I booked a cheap flight out of Buffalo on USAir/United/Continental that had say 6 segments, would they all count? Thx. |
Yes, as long as you meet the new minimum AC mileage/segments rules.

The booking class must also allow you to earn at least >0 status miles on AE. If the particular booking class earns no status mile, then the segment doesn't count.

Anything specific to watch out for?
I have found some sample inexpensive flights out of Buffalo (CO) with six segments in total. (6 segments for around $350) They are either in L or K class, and they all say 100% Elite Qualification and list the amount of miles (all are >0) so I assume all segments would count. Am I correct? Even the ones that are <500 miles? If I have to do a 'segment run' I just want to ensure I won't waste my time and I will get the credit I think I am getting. Thx. |

Eligible fare classes are: F, J, C, D, Z , Y, B, M, E, U, H, Q, V, W, S, T, L, K, G, N. You're fine. |
