PTO.

I have received PTO cd rom, I have installed the program and have tried to book a flight, am I correct in thinking this will only allow me to book J or Y fares?.

If it is, what really is the point, it would be much nicer if I could choose the fares basis and book upgrades....

Does anyone use this?....and to what advantage?.

There's just been some recent discussion on this. PTO has its uses, but it is also limited. A few small fixes would make it very helpful. Are you listening AC? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

No you can book all discount fares (and it will usually do the best pricing of all booking engines). The problem is you cannot tell if they are upgradeable or not (ie V or higher fares). Generally it will just book you into the lowest Q or L class fare available. Then you have to phone ticketing to change it. I use Travelocity for doing simple specific V fare class type bookings but PTO for researching and for doing full Y and J class bookings.

That's exactly what I do too BB.

PTO also works great when booking all business/first class fares with other airlines.
