ANA RQ availability?
When I use the ANA tool to look for award availability sometimes I get a selectable option that is labelled "RQ" to submit request to other airline. These flights don't show at all on the AP booking engine. How do I interpret these RQ seats - can they be booked or reserved or not?

In my experience, the RQ just means the server could not be reached and a conclusive availability status could not be established. In other words, "try again". Does anyone else notice this happens more with OZ than any other carrier? |
i understand RQ is also an arrangement between NH and another carrier, where they may consider releasing additional award seats if requested. Once again its an arrangement between NH and the operating carrier

I see RQ mostly with OZ flights, but did see it for a while last year with Thai flights ex SYD/BNE when they were in the process of introducing new schedules.
Sometimes just refreshing the page will change the status from RQ to something else. |
Sometimes this also happens during the (very extensive) OZ blackout dates
