A bug in the eUpgrade website

We have a 4-segment itinerary. Both of us are SE. We have two different PNRs.

Flight 0: CDG-YYZ in S fare
Flight 1: YYZ-SFO in S fare
Flight 2: SFO-YYZ in B fare
Flight 3: YYZ-FRA in B fare

First, we upgraded Flight 0 with SSWU (flown in Jan 11).
Then we upgraded flights 2 and 3 with MY e-credits.

While I have no problems upgrading my Flight 1 with my own credits,
Mrs can't use HER credits to upgrade HER Flight 1.
This is simply because she used MY credits to upgrade her Flights 2
and 3. I had to upgrade her flight 1 using MY credits!

This is ridiculous.
Why can't she use HER own credits to upgrade her own flight,
just because some of the other segments of the PNR was upgraded using my credits?

Then, I was forced to use my credits. But I got a screen like this when I did the upgrade:

WT F? Look at Flight 3: Upgrade requested with a paper certificate.

It's a flight in May 2011!!! Am I going to have to use a Blue cert at the gate???:confused::o

When I checked the eUpgrade history with MY login, this flight 3 is not shown. Only Flights 1 & 2 are shown.

Please, AC, make your IT work properly.:o

If you want a blue cert, I still got quite a few ones. I can mail them to you. :D

I don't believe this is a bug, I think it is by design. When you sponsor someone else's upgrade on a PNR, they cannot request an upgrade on that PNR with their own credits until after the sponsored upgraded flight is flown. It's explained on ACs website sonewhere.

I do agree its not the most ideal situation however.

This happened too me as well whereby on my return journey I had the paper cert message. In my case I was explained that my PNR was created in Jan 2011 and I had flown the outbound in late January 2011 and had a return in the 1st week of March which caused the IT glitch....only at AC could this happen....FABULOUS IT Platforms!...LOL

+1 thats how i read it as well, sucks really.... who cares who's credit it is (for inbound or outbound), as long as its sufficient and legitimate source they should allow the upgrade altogether

Thanks! The problem is, your blue certs all have an expiry date of Feb 28, 2011. How do I get some blue certs that haven't expired?:D

Perhaps their PDP-11 will fail to understand the Feb 28,2011 because it is in the past. Just like some 2011 E(?)/SE member's card show up as expired at *A lounges...
