Embraer reliability?
After going for an incredibly long stretch without experiencing any delays on AC due to mechanical problems I have had 4 in the last 3 weeks all exceeding two hours and all involving Embraer planes. The most recent was AC 464 yesterday. I have no idea what the problems have been. In 3 of the cases we were moved to a different plane such as with AC 124 on March 25th. Just bad luck or is something going on with these planes?

I had a cancelled flight from YYC-YYZ that was supposed to be on an E90. This was May 2010. Otherwise I've had good luck with the Embraers. I'm on them on the YQR-YYZ and vice versa route quite frequently, and have been on them YYC-JFK, SAN-YVR, SAN-YYC, YYC-YEG and YVR-YEG without issue.
I'm not sure if the Embraers are inherently unreliable; too small a sample size. |
Apart from the slat problem (which by now might have been fixed) they look OK.

I fly YVR-YYC about 40 segments a year. I usually pick an E90 over the A319/320 because it is much quieter and I prefer the single A seat in J when I can get it. I have not noticed the E90 to be any better or worse on reliability than the Airbus family.

only had 2 breakdown out of the many times i travel on E70 (UA), E75 and E90.......... Gotta say I love those things (compared to A319, 320, 321).... must be the sleek interior design

I generally like the "E Series" but they seem to be less tolerant of adverse weather, in particular high winds.

No way. I hate the E90, you can barely fit any bags in the overhead cabin. A319 is my favorite domestic plane hands down.

10:00 YVR-YYC is being operated with an Amigo today.

Prefer the E90/E75 to the A319/20/21.
Better ride, 2x2 seating. ^ |

Better ride. I like the single seat. Especially 1A. I guess if having to be seated on the 2 side, might as well be on a 319/320/321. I don't really care. |

If you were a computer program that did nothing aside from simulate Poisson processes, you wouldn't have noticed anything unusual, aside from wondering why FAs keep offering drinks to a computer program. |

Better ride, 2x2 seating. ^ Same a/c that flew home the Habs night before.I wanted to know where Gomez sits so I could put a tack on his seat to light a fire under his butt :-) I say  because seat 7d-f are emergency row seats and we had 2 metres open space in front of us. I say:( because the SE check-in desk had no idea what was going on.I had been in seats 1d-f and inquired why. I say  because the SE check in desk told me to straighten out involuntary downgrade and Mrs.acysb87s J reward tix at check-in gate.I know what the Rapidair gates are like.Good grief. All said,I now should get back some points for Mrs.acysb87s ticket and an E-credit to my account:D |

Ride cannot possibly be better: smaller plane, smaller wing = inherently more bumpy.
