A small E-question

May be a very stupid question BUT ... I am a bit confused to the new system as I never exactly learned the old one. Example, I am going from yow to yeg thru yyz, so when I upgrade, on a T+ fare am I paying 10 credits or 16. It says something about connections but I never exactly understood it.

Please no flames :( haha I am but a noob :)

it is my understanding you would only pay the lesser of those two amounts....as they will take the # of credits as if the flight was a direct and not a connection (even if it is a connection)

So (on a regular T+ fare): YOW-YYZ = 6credits and YYZ-YEG = 10credits but YOW-YYZ-YEG would be 10credits (same as YOW-YEG direct).

This is under the assumption that it is all under one ticket and within the domestic connection timeframe, which we are going by in this case.

Even better, if your origin and destination are under 1500 miles, you get away with 6 credits, no matter how long your actual flight is. Best example I've found so far is yyt-bda (via yyz), but I'm sure there are others.

So why then does it ask me to submit 16 credits? They are on the same ticket (same ref number)

When viewing your itinerary on AC.com select upgrade flight and it will send you to the Eug management page telling you how much you need. Once you confirm the amount is automatically debited from your account. Of course, upgrading can only be done at the proper upgrade window.

So under the upgrade page I put in my ref and name then it shows me 3 flights:

Flight 1: yow-yyz-ywg
Flight 2:ywg-yyc-yeg
Flight 3:yeg-yyc-yvr-yow

to upgrade flight 3 would be 0+6+10 (yeg yyc is on a dash8) so would I just pay 10? I don't care enough about first on a 1h flight to pay 6 credits...

I will sponsor the upgrade on the Dash8, i don;t care what it costs I will u/g you on every dash8 you fly this year....:D:D as well as Beachcraft you may find yourself on...and CRJ's in fact...not CRA's though.:p
