Help with codeshare flights

I booked the following for my wife the other day on Expedia.

Toronto (YYZ)
Depart 7:00 am Terminal 1 to Chicago (ORD)
Arrive 7:50 am
Terminal 2 436 mi
(702 km)
Duration: 1hr 50mn
UA
Flight: 8301
Operated by: AIR CANADA

--------------------------------------------

Chicago (ORD)
Depart 8:50 am
Terminal 1 to Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
Arrive 12:50 pm
Terminal 1 1,182 mi
(1,902 km)
Duration: 3hr 0mn
UA Flight: 4018
Operated by: CONTINENTAL AIRLINES, INC.

I tried to checkin with the UNITED confirmation on both united.com and ac.com and cannot checkin on either site. Is online checkin possible with these flights.

Also is 1 hour connection between terminal 1 and 2 at ORD a challenge. I am assuming she won't have to get any luggage or do customs or anything and just run to the next flight?

Here is the return with a CO booking number.

You should be able to check your luggage all the way through from YYZ. You will clear US Customs & Immigration as well in YYZ, so you can make your way strait away to the gate.

T2 (Air Canada) and T1 (Continental / United) are connected airside. You will arrive at E1-E2 and depart from B1-B4, so not much of a walk as you can see from this map.

The RCC near B6-B7 is the best of the lot, and has a CO representative.

Thanks for the map. The boarding passes do not have gate numbers yet.

What is RCC?

Red Carpet Club = UA lounge (only relevant if she has Star Alliance Gold status or any paid lounge membership)

Nope no status.

Just checked the weather and it does not look good for tomorrow for Chicago or today for that matter.

AC and CO always go out of the same gates, so it is mostly a matter of which ones of a select few...
