In addition to appearing at Koerner Hall in Toronto this Sunday, Jan has a concert in the intimate setting of the Thousand Islands Playhouse in Gananoque August 5. Tickets went on sale today.

If you're coming to the Junos, and I can buy you a carbonated beverage while you're in Regina, let me know.

Congratulations - it sure sounds like you deserve all the accolades.

Wow, wow, wow!!

Got to listen to your music on a couple of AC flights last summer. Entertaining, yet soothing and relaxing.

Don't thing I've ever been as excited and looking forward to tune into the Juno's as much as I will this year!

Way to go, kid! No matter who walks away with the hardware, you'll be the sentimental favourite of many on this forum! Good luck! ^

I must add my cheers, congrats, and best wishes for the Juno.

I do look foward to meeting you, Jan. I am sure I will some day, here in YYC perhaps at a FT meet?!

Good luck!
Keep on playing and flying.

Music isn't in my vocabulary, but even if I can't hear it, I can appreciate the significant talent entailed in Jan's career. Thus, I took offense on Jan's behalf reading this in today's Toronto Star concert picks for March 3:
http://www.thestar.com/entertainment...r_march_3.html

"The Sampler doesn’t know what you were doing at age 17, but the prodigal Lisiecki has played Carnegie Hall..."

Obviously, "the Sampler" at 17 wasn't studying Vocabulary 101 in preparation for being a reporter. ;-)

I believe Corb Lund - a frequent visitor and contributor at times - has just been nominated for his 5th Juno (1win). And if anyone would have given the Smalls their due, it would be higher than that!

Congrats Jan. Hope to see you in YQR for the show.

Congrats Jan on the nomination and good luck for the Juno.

Some of us FTers need to meet up with you outside YYZ, etc. in a place that you can actually drink lol.

I seldom fly AC, but I'm a huge fan of Canadian music, so congrats, jlisi984! Good luck in Regina!

*hides in fear of whichever other Canadian country singers besides Corb Lund could be posting on here*

:-: Congratulations, Jan, on your nomination! ^ :-:

A great reason to watch the Junos this year: as a fellow FTer, it feels like I've got some skin in the game. Toi Toi Toi!

Wirelessly posted (Nokia Lumia 800: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows Phone OS 7.5; Trident/5.0; IEMobile/9.0; NOKIA; Lumia 800; Vodafone))

Congratulations on the nomination!

I'd be interested in knowing which conductors and / or orchestras you most enjoyed working with.

Well, the answer to my question might soon be the great Claudio Abbado (former music director of La Scala and former chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic).

Due to the last-minute cancellation of renowned pianist Martha Argerich, Jan Lisiecki was asked to fill in for a concerto performance under Maestro Abbado in Bologna:

That was quite fun. And of course a wonderful honour and experience.

Must say, it was a bit of a tiring and stressful week. I'm now in TXL, enjoying two weekend days off. ^
