AC Reservations: ...tic toc tic toc tic toc
Looks like the hideous waits are back.
15 minutes this time. When I finally got through, the agent said the number was coming through to the wrong centre, and that all Elite calls are now dealt with out of Montreal (she was in the maritimes).

Fly Boy,
I called regular AC reservations today and waited less than three minutes on hold (at around 1500 EST). Maybe it was the time of day, but maybe it was because I live in the USA and the Tampa call centre could have taken the call (although the agent - and another in the background - seemed to French to be in Tampa?). Better luck next time, I suppose.

I called AC reservations last week from the States. I didn't have the Elite number with me, so I just dialed the number in the phone book. The phone was answered immediately ... before it rang. (Not sure why I didn't get the annoying automated "press 1, press 2" thing. But I wanted an agent, so I was glad to get one at the start of the call.) This was mid day during the week.
Over the last 4 or 5 months, I've been pleased with the speed at which Air Canada answers the phone. There are bound to be busy times, but overall the wait times have been reasonable.
AC Reservations was great before Christmas, when I travelled through YYZ twice during snow storms. Both times, they had more up to date information than the airport agents, and were much more willing to rebook my missed conections. Now, if only they could issue hotel vouchers, I could avoid all contact with YYZ staff during stressful times.

I had a similar experience on Sunday. Called the Elite line and was held for 5 or 10 minutes. Finally when I was released from hold, I got a "this call cannot be completed as dialed, please try again" message.
I gave up with the Elite line and called the SuperElite line instead. Even then I was on hold for about 4-5 minutes.

I called the Aeroplan line today about something different, to use the automated system. Whilst listening to the itemised list, the machine was cut off by Rupert whats-his-name, apologising for the long wait. Then he kept repeating and repeating and not going back to automated system. Eventually I pressed "1" and Rupert stopped talking, and I was forwarded to the Super Elite desk. Still haven't quite figured out what is going on, but if I get to be SE for 2 days that's all good. I'm definately kewl with that!

Just wondering, why would you call the Elite line when you are a SE?

I've found the (New Brunswick) agents that the Elite number goes to much more friendly and helpful than the agents at the SuperElite desk. So I'll continue to use the Elite number unless the wait is too long.
This leaves me wondering. As SE, they haven't given me the Elite number. I suppose the number on my 2000 Elite card will be changed March 1 so I'll need to get the new Elite number somehow.

Here we go again. I was holding a reservation on a 3:00pm flight today. My plans changed, so I wanted to cancel and reschedule for later this week. I called the SE desk and, you guessed it, no answer.
I really tried not to be a no-show, but what am I supposed to do?
