The AP rip off--must be Guinness Book Record

How much is ridiculous? I was looking at YYZ-EZE tickets for Sep 20111--did not sign in--AFAIK J class AP tickets are 75000 points each to South America--no seats available. So out of curiosity I clicked on extra value awards and yes--there were 2 seats available--are you sitting down?--for 1,398,000 points!! I haven't been following this but it seems appropriate for the record books!! Here I thought 300,000 points for a TV was too much.
I usually value AP points at 4c--so two tickets would be 56,000 dollars!! Wow!!

No, I was standing, actually.

Are you sitting down? I've seen seats go for even more.

I wouldn't worry so much. That's more than 18,000 years in the future and it likely accounts for inevitable reward point inflation.

Hey, c'mon. They do have "every seat." It's enshrined in the fundamentals of the advertising.

I've seen YYC-YYZ-CDG available in J/I for 1.8 million Aeroplan miles per seat. Absolutely nuts for us FTers. I would never do it, nor would anyone I associate with.

And the Argentinian government's new $100+ visa fee for Canadians (each entry not for multiple entries within 6-months, or for the life of the passport)!

Stop freaking out... It's the J class price with a 1 cent a point valuation to buy the seats, same as the TV. Other airlines have the same thing. SQ just introduced multi-million point redemptions for the new Suites product.

Really!! Nice to know I can save all this much. My 20111 was because I got carried away--in case you didn't figure it out--it should read 2011!! Maybe AP should have Lotto AP 9--pay 100,000 miles for a lotto ticket and you can win 2 tickets for a specially enhanced price of 2.5MM points and no extra charges!!

As long as regular redemptions are not SkyPeso'ed, great for AC for trying to find a fool to pay those miles

Just another bait-and-switch operation that Aeroplan has cooked up to scam its pax. I honestly don't know if Air Canada and Aeroplan work with each other or against each other.
