Conditioned to accept misery
ORD T2 -> YYZ (Air Canada)
- Agent offered to put me on the flight leaving in 45 minutes (without me asking)
- she checked my bags all the way through to final destination even though not on the same PNR
- agent offered directions on how to find the priority security line
- priority status was enforced in the security line
- shoes off, crap out of the carry on, coat off
- moat dragons were just doing their jobs - not chit-chatting or gossiping
- no NoS, no pat down
- through in 3 minutes
- priority boarding was enforced by the gate agent
- FAs were polite and reasonably cheerful
I was going to post this as "a fabulous flight experience" when I realized that really, why isn't this normal? Have we become so conditioned to accept people not doing their jobs, and to expect misery that when all the stars actually align we think we've had a great experience?

What are the odds of my lucky streak continuing ... I'm waitlisted for an UG on the flight today from YYZ -> FRA - just one seat available and I'm a lowly E.
I'm thinking I've had my "pleasant flying experience" for the day
