Package on Expedia with flight with AC
 

Never done this before (must be the age factor kicking in!!), but I'm seriously considering booking a package (air and hotel) on Expedia for a weekend of fun in Las Vegas. Been to Vegas before, but never on a package.

Here's my question: I know that the hotel portion of the trip won't be eligible for stay or points credit on any hotel programs. However, I was wondering if the flight portion of the package would give me credit and miles with AP.

I'm fairly certain the answer is no, but just wanted to confirm the information!

Since all AC flights to USA are Tango+ or higher, your flights will be eligible for status miles and segment credit. Enjoy the weekend!

Be careful if you have an connection in Canada segment before your flight to LAS. Expedia sometimes pairs a Tango fare for the Canadian portion with a Tango+ fare for the US portion. I've seen this happened when Porter has a special, e.g. YTZ-EWR and AC matches YYZ-EWR but not YOW-EWR. Expedia may book YOW-YYZ-EWR as two separate tickets, YOW-YYZ in T and YYZ-EWR in T+, if it is cheaper.

Also I thought packages (e.g. AC Vacations) were sometimes booked in X or K class, which do not earn status miles?

My lovely wife gave me a great surprise gift for my 40th B-day on Monday by telling me she was taking me to Vegas this weekend. Was also booked through Expedia, using AC metal. I checked with AC and they said that as the fare was Tango-Plus, it qualified for status miles. The really sweet part is that the outbound flight to LAS pushes me over the hump into early Elite qualification. My first time making it to the top tier. Woo hoo!:D
