AirMiles program?

This might not be the right forum for this, but I was wondering if the AirMiles program is still functioning. The reason is that I've been having the darndest time getting on to their website to check my balance. Are they just re-vamping their website or is this a sign that the program is no longer running.

What is their 1-800 number to book reward air travel with them?

Thanks

They were supposed to have a new website by then, it's a new one where you can customize your own content and information and news. I was one of the lucky member that can test their new site out before it went public, but somehow the new site was gone few days later after launching due to some technical difficulty. Their current site is slow and (almost) never work. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif

Their phone number is 1-888-AIR-MILES (1-888-247-6453) or 416-226-5171 in Toronto. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

You're both right. We've been trying to access the AirMiles site for over three weeks now, and can't get by the "click here to see our new site". It never loads fully, if at all. Two emails to Airmails got: 1. Your computer must be too old (ours is 6 months old with the latest programs), then 2. We apologize but we are having technical difficulties with our new site.
When we called the customer service center over a week ago, we were told the site would be up and running in a few days. More than a few days have now passed and..........??

Is this the "new" Air Miles site? In recent months, they've already had a big fiasco with it once. It was just so darn slow to load, you'd just give up. Then they decided to go back to the old site (which worked) with the explanation that due to "technical difficulties" their new website would be delayed. They must be trying the new one again (without success). Too many unnecessary "features".

Where did you go? I can get access at www.airmiles.ca

Why don't you give it a try.

Agincourt Jan 13, 2001 7:17 pm

I agree with you, FewMiles. Air Miles is Air Miles, why add all those unnecessary features and contents? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif All in a sudden, it looks like "My Yahoo!" but only worse.

www.airmiles.co.uk ==> A-OK http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif www.airmiles.nl ==> deze website werkt http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif www.airmiles.ca ==> no go http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Sorry, I couldn't find the Spanish Air Miles site.

FewMiles,

Don't know how cslusarc got through to the site, but we still are unable to do so, and we went to it from several different search engines, but it would just not load. Even tried to get to it through "Loyalty Mangagement Group", their owner, and only got a partial load to the old site. Not a very efficient way to check your points lately.

I just went to www.airmiles.ca and am staring at what looks like a proper page (nothing obviously missing).

Don't know what you're doing wrong, I don't think I've _ever_ been to that page before just now!

(IE 5.5, Win 95).

Andrew,

Just tried again--got the same response, nothing. Starts loading, then I get the response from Netscape that the server must be down--please try again later. Even tried going to Airmiles UK, (which worked perfectly) and then clicking on their link to the Canadian site--still no good. Then I tried going to one of Airmiles' partners, United Van Lines, to try to get from their site. United loaded fine--Airmiles from there, still no go. No other site giving any problems-they shudda left well enough alone at the old site--worked fine.
Netscape 4.7, Windows 98 SE.
Anyone else having these continuing problems??

I got thru this morning, was able to check my balance after a slow load, but everything else seemed to take forever.

BlondeBomber Jan 14, 2001 7:40 am

same problem--veeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyy sssssllllloooooooooowwwwwwwwwww even with cable modem.

I have accessed the site before with no problems. Never witnessed this before. IE 5.5, Windows 98.

airbus320 Jan 14, 2001 7:40 am

This is challenging...I get an incomplete page and the message that the servez is not responding.

BlondeBomber Jan 14, 2001 7:54 am

Try https://secure2.airmiles.com/english...faultLogin.asp if you want quick account balance info but everything else will still be slow (but faster than www.airmiles.ca

FewMiles Jan 14, 2001 10:33 am

Tried www.airmiles.ca and once again, no go. (This time from my office LAN, home cable modem didn't work either.) The link BlondeBomber provided works just fine though (it's the old version of the site).

How disappointing. (And I'm not just talking about my Air Miles balance, either. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )

FewMiles..
